NYFW Takes Fall/Winter '24

One of you asked me to write my next blog article about my takes on New York Fashion Week.. so here it is! 

First of all let me say, I'm honored that you guys want to know what I think about this topic. Fashion has been something I've been interested in my whole life. I gained even more respect and insight into the fashion world while studying fashion retail for my minor at university. 

I used this article by Refinery 29 to hone in on a few of the key trends that we saw at NYFW earlier this month. Here are three trends that stood out to me:

Sheer fabrics: I've always gravitated towards sheer fabrics. There is something whimsical and elevated about this material when styled right. Something new I learned about styling sheer fabrics from NYFW this fall is that it doesn't have to be revealing. Unique denim: Denim is one thing we can always count on to be in style. Earlier this month at NYFW we saw ways to elevate regular denim fabrics through unique designs and eclectic styles. Not your grandmother's lace: Will I ever get tired of lace? The answer's no... and neither should you. Like denim, lace has proven to be an essential in fashion over the years. NYFW this fall showed us how to incorporate lace into our wardrobe in new ways. Try styling a lace item in an alternative color such as red and see how you like it! Another way to incorporate this trend is balancing out the feminine look of lace with a more masculine fabric... think lacy dress paired with a leather jacket. Click here to see some Amazon styles I'm loving that showcase this NYFW trend!
